UPDATE: 11/7/2017. Service is even worse. We tried it again with a group after work. No happy hour, poor service. Personalities were pretty much missing. Still don't recommend.
Good service and atmosphere. Food is hit and miss. The crab legs were meaty and seasoned well but fairly cold (not recently steamed). the sides of mac & cheese and loaded potatoes were great. The bar drinks were satisfying. The atmosphere is good and family friendly. The pie of the day which was Peach cobbler was a royal disappointment. It was clearly microwaved, the crust was mushy or non-existent, and the texture was gelatinous. Only my teenage athlete boys ate it. Overall the restaurant is good and satisfying, they can make some major improvements as well.
We ordered via delivery service after reading some reviews. The menu was a little misleading, vague descriptions which isn't uncommon - so we ordered hot roast beef (options were fries/mashed potatoes) with various breads (no condiment mention or option)... usually when a place offers cold sandwiches & hot - the hot (turkey/roast beef) are typically open faced with gravy...not here. I assume the meat is heated then put on a sandwich with lettuce, tomato, and what appeared to be Big Mac sauce or thousand island dressing, definitely not what I expected. Please update item descriptions or add options (might mention lettuce, tomato, etc. in description or options) so people know exactly what they'll get. I personally abhor roast beef unless it's topped with gravy - I will say while not entirely happy with the sandwich itself, the roast beef was good. Locally, I've honestly never seen a sandwich description like this that ended up with the sandwich being a deli sandwich - everywhere else we've seen hot roast beef actually came with gravy, like a meal. I bet if you did offer the hot roast beef sandwich with gravy as a meal, you'd have a new customer favorite-if the roast was in house cooked, you'd no doubt make a banging gravy to go with it. 3 stars for vagueness & for calling it a hot sandwich, it isn't.
My husband and I go here a couple times a week. We love it! We're regulars and the staff knows us and is always great. The Oyster Stew is a must have! The waitress Erica is amazing! We love her.
Loved the stuffed oysters. The flavor and amount are generous. The cocktails are strong and plentiful. The crabs huge and seasoned well. The down side were the wings. Crispy wings come out close to burnt and dried out. Lovely community atmosphere in the bar area, great place to watch a game.
Crabs - good. Service is horrible. This is our local place and we drive into Baltimore to avoid this place. Owner is really a jerk. Their "polices" are well known in regards to "you will pay whether the food or service was good". Took friends there on a Saturday afternoon (3 people in the bar) for steamed shrimp and beer. Was told we had to have reservations and they were booked solid but we could wait 20 minutes for a table - again, 3 people in the entire place!! This was the last straw after a series of several tries. While their crabs are pretty good (not the best) I really hate supporting a jerk and gladly take my business elsewhere. Suggest you do the same, you won't be disappointed.
